About the Job
Pediatrician – Mornings, Evenings & Weekends
KidsWatch Pediatrics (Ashburn, VA)

It’s 8:30pm. A parent walks in holding a child with a fever, already deep into a spiral of “should I be worried?”

They didn’t want to wait days for an appointment.
They didn’t want to go to urgent care and see someone who doesn’t know kids.

That’s why we built KidsWatch

We’re a different kind of pediatric practice. One that doesn’t close at 5pm, doesn’t make families wait days for care, and doesn’t force them to choose between urgent care and a pediatrician who actually knows their child.

What This Role Looks Like:
You’ll provide a mix of:
  • Well child visits (scheduled, protected time)
  • Same day sick visits (when kids don’t get sick on a schedule)

Some families will choose to see you consistently. Others will walk in needing help right now. Both matter here.
This is not a traditional panel based role, but it still allows for real relationships with families who come back to you.

What Makes This Different:
  • No traditional patient panel.
  • No inbox or between shift responsibilities.
  • Flexible, shift based scheduling.
  • Strong support team with two MAs per shift so you can focus on care, not logistics.
  • On site capabilities including x ray, labs, and procedure.s

We’re not urgent care pretending to be pediatrics.
We’re pediatricians who didn’t see the point in closing early.

Our Community:
The families we care for come from many different backgrounds, cultures, and languages, and that matters in how we show up as clinicians.
We value providers who are culturally aware, curious, and able to build trust across different communities.
If you speak another language or have experience caring for diverse populations, that’s a meaningful asset here.

Scheduling:
  • Evening shifts, typically 4pm to 10pm
  • Weekend shifts, Saturday and Sunday
  • Flexible block scheduling available
  • Morning shifts are typically 8am-4pm

This can be a consistent weekly role or a flexible pick up shift model.

What You’ll Do During a Shift:
  • Perform well child visits and preventative care.
  • Evaluate and treat common pediatric illnesses and injuries.
  • Manage a mix of scheduled and walk in patients.
  • Work closely with a highly trained MA team to maintain efficient patient flow.

Compensation:
  • $100 per hour for standard daytime shifts.
  • $110 to $115 per hour for evening and weekend coverage.

This is a shift based role with simple, transparent compensation and no productivity pressure during the initial growth phase.

As patient volume grows, there will be opportunities to add performance based incentives.

Who This Is Great For:
  • Pediatricians who want flexibility without losing clinical depth.
  • Physicians stepping back from traditional full time roles.
  • Providers who enjoy both acute care and continuity.
  • Clinicians who want to help build a modern model of pediatric care.
